Want To Know How To Look & Feel Younger, Ladies? Read To Find Out!

Hey there, gorgeous ladies!

As women, we all know that one thing that sits in the back of our minds, nagging and chipping away at our self-esteem is getting older. The closer you get your 30s and 40s, the more these thoughts seem to persist.

Everyone wants to look and feel young, that’s a fact. But with the immense amount of pressure society puts on women to be young and beautiful, it’s no wonder that its us that are splitting hairs with such thoughts. An older man might be considered “wise”, “seasoned” or “handsome”, while an older woman is often thought of as a “cougar”. Scoff!

Although we shouldn’t take into account what everyone says, we do. And that can affect your confidence and the ability to be your best self. That’s why we often look for ways to look younger whenever we can. Plus, looking younger also means feeling younger, which is always a good thing.

Here are 8 simple ways in which you can train your body, skin, and face to look and feel younger than you actually are:

1. Just Chill Out!

Nothing ages you like stress, so just chill out!

Stress is one of the main things that cause all kinds of problems to our bodies, both inside and out. When you are stressed, your bodily organs might not function properly or you might become mentally ill. These are things that will manifest in your appearance. Stress leads to things like sleep deprivation, and constant frowning due to stress can lead to the development of dark circles, under-eye bags, wrinkles, frown lines, drooping skin, etc.

Furthermore, when you are stressed, you won’t be in the mindset of taking care of yourself or your skin, which means you won’t be eating healthy (which is essential) or have a proper skincare routine. When someone is stressed, you can see it in their face and that’s something that instantly ages you at least 10 years. Therefore, it’s important that you try and de-stress your life. Identify what it is that is causing you anxiety and try to rectify/get rid of it.

2. Realize Your Passions

We just saw that stress can be a very big problem when it comes to aging faster. One of the ways to significantly reduce the stress in your life is by realizing your passions. More often than not, the stress and frustration in a person’s life stems from the fact that they have to constantly hold themselves back and stop themselves from doing what they want.

What is something that you’ve always wanted to do? Is it something temporary like going on a ski vacation or driving cross-country, or something major like a career change? You should put on your big boy pants and just do it! You will instantly feel a weight lift off your shoulders and feel ages younger, which will definitely show in your face.

Some people do not have the liberty to drop everything that stresses them, and in that case its important to take up something that will help you escape from those pressures at least for a little while. You can take up a hobby or something your passionate about, which will help you relax and clear your mind at least for a while. Other activities like yoga or meditation are also lifesavers.

3. Get Active

If you want to look younger, it’s not just your face that you need to focus on. Your body also plays an important role in how your age is perceived. A person who is in-shape instantly looks young and healthy, while huffing and puffing after climbing just two flights of stairs will convince anyone your oooold.

But it’s not all about looks either. If you want to look younger, you’ll have to feel younger. Being physically fit and active is instantly a sign of a young person, but it also makes you feel younger. If your body is strong and agile, your internal organs will also work well. Exercise is also a great way to de-stress, which also helps a lot.

If you feel like you haven’t got the time to go to the gym, that’s alright. A 20-minute walk in the morning is just as good, plus you get all the goodness of sunlight, like Vitamin D, which is very beneficial to your skin. Getting bulked up through weight-lifting also has been said to a good de-ager. In fact, a study at Penn State College of Medicine even found that those that strength trained lived longer lives!

4. What To Eat

You are what you eat.

This might not exactly come as a shock to you, but your diet is one of the major factors that determines how you look. Having a diet that is rich in natural fruits and vegetables, herbs, organic meat and other healthy foods is going to make you seem younger than you are. The simple fact is that eating healthy keeps you healthy (ie. less likely to fall sick or develop diseases), which is important to look and feel youthful.

Some of the things that you should include more often into your diet to stay young include foods rich in good fats like fish and nuts, as well as superfruit like goji berries and pomegranates. Green tea has also been known for it’s anti-aging properties. Not only are these foods good for your outer appearance, they also help in the prevention of many diseases, age-related or otherwise.

5. What NOT To Eat

You should also stay away from unhealthy foods. One of the main things you need to avoid in your diet is processed and refined food! These are the biggest culprits that cause you to look older, but unfortunately most people’s diets consist mainly of these.

Processed food is full of salt, which not only cause high blood pressure, but also wreaks havoc on skin by causing bloating, water retention, drooping, etc. Refined food like white sugar and all purpose flour are also full of empty calories. They have been processed to such an extent that they do not have any health properties whatsoever. Furthermore, sugar has been known to cause acne and breakouts while many people are allergic to gluten (without even knowing it). The only purpose they serve is to taste good, which is also something you can achieve through healthy foods that do benefit you.

6. Use The Right Supplements

When you’re shopping for skin-supplements and creams to fight the aging battle, it’s important that you pick the right ones. Do a bit of research before heading to the store to identify what kind of elements will be most beneficial to your specific skin type. If you are prone to allergies or have sensitive skin, also make sure you know what elements do not suit you.

A couple ingredients to look for in skin creams that have a lot of anti-aging benefits are retinol and madecassol. The former is a type of Vitamin A that smoothens the skin, prevents wrinkles, and encourages the growth of new skin. The latter is an Asian plant extract that gets rid of fine lines, firms the skin, and gives you a youthful glow!

7. Think Young

This might sound like a mind game, but that’s because it sort of is. By the time we reach our 30s, most of us have gotten into a routine and have a set of boundaries that firmly distinguish our “comfort zone”. Most people don’t dare step out of it, and this monotonous lifestyle is something that makes them feel a lot older than they are.

That’s why it’s important to “think young”. Be open to new ideas, don’t take yourself too seriously, and challenge yourself! Try something, like going dancing or sampling a new cuisine, that you might not have done otherwise. Constantly experiencing new things, like you would do when you are young, is bound to keep you youthful; mind, body, and soul!

8. Be Social

Being social also plays an important role in being young. Connecting with others makes us feel good, and making new friendships opens up a world of opportunities. Volunteering and social work is another way to meet people who share interests and also makes you feel good to be doing something for others.

These can lead to success in your professional life, or even find you a soul mate. Ask anybody who’s been in love, and they’ll tell you there’s never been a more exhilarating feeling or a better form of encouragement to get up and seize the day. Plus, the bedroom action isn’t going to hurt your chances of staying young either!
